In celebration of the World Bamboo Day and Philippine Bamboo Month, the ATI-RTC 1, in partnership with its two (2) accredited private extension service providers (PESPs)- the Center for Bamboo Development Inc. and the Our Farm Republic, held a bamboo planting in Brgy. Pacalat, Mangatarem, Pangasinan on September 27, 2024.
The bamboo propagules planted were grown in the established bamboo nursery of Pacalat Bamboo Growers- a women group organized during the training on bamboo production and management conducted in the said barangay in June 2024.
The celebration also highlighted the induction of officers of the Pacalat Bamboo Growers, administered by the Sangguniang Bayan Member of the LGU-Mangatarem- Hon. Andrea Cruz. The LGU committed to provide support and assistance to complement the capacity building interventions of the Center and the PESPs to include training on bamboo briquettes and soap processing scheduled in 2025.
