In a demonstration of strong leadership and commitment, Engr. Remelyn R. Recoter, Director of the Agricultural Training Institute, recently conducted a series of productive and significant visits to various sites and stakeholders in the province of Ilocos Norte.
One of the highlights of the Directorโs visits was a meeting with the Mariano Marcos State University and the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 1. Engr. Recoter, along with ATI-RTC 1 Center Director Dr. Jayvee Bryan G. Carillo and staff, had a dialogue with MMSU President Dr. Julius Virgilio P. Manzano and DA-RFO 1 Regional Technical Director Dennis I. Tactac. Discussions focused on the utilization and further development of the ATI-RTC 1 Satellite Training Center within the MMSU compound in Brgy. Tabug, Batac City. All agreements during the meeting will be written into a Memorandum of Understanding.
Following this, Engr. Recoter went to the Satellite Training Center for an inspection. During the site visit, Dr. Carillo presented the initial structural plans for the existing Training Hall, which is intended for immediate use for the Centerโs activities. As such, RTD Tactac led a walk-through of the site for the possible construction of a building extension.
The itinerary also included a turnover ceremony of the Training Hall to the Veรฑa Vierde โ a certified Learning Site for Agriculture in Batac City. Here, Engr. Recoter met the owner of the farm, Mr. Kevin Wyne P. Baga, a young farmer who is venturing into agriculture and now serves as an inspiration to the younger generation, not only through his demonstration of sustainable agricultural practices but also through his productive and profitable farming activities.
Present also during the turnover ceremony was Batac City Mayor-elect Mark Christian R. Chua, who expressed his appreciation to the ATI for the continued support across all the cityโs aspirations to sustain the development of the agriculture and fisheries sector in the locality.
Throughout these meaningful visits, the Director gathered valuable insights and feedback that will guide future programs and ensure need-based interventions. Indeed, the visit highlighted a proactive approach to ensuring policies and initiatives that will pave the way for inclusive agriculture and fisheries development.
