The Department of AgricultureโAgricultural Training InstituteโRegional Training Center 1 (DA-ATI-RTC 1) conducted Gender and Development (GAD) Proposal Writeshop for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) on June 18-20, 2025, at ATI-RTC 1, Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
The three-day activity was participated in by 21 AEWs from various municipalities and cities across Ilocos Region. The training aims to provide participants with essential knowledge and skills in preparing gender sensitive proposal.
The activity featured a combination of lecture and writeshop sessions, enabling the participants to craft project proposals. Writeshop sessions focused on nine areas such as; Writing Project Information, Writing the Agribusiness Project Description, Marketing Aspect, Business Operation, Financial Analysis, Project Cost Requirement, Project Benefit Analysis, Work Plan; and Sustainability and Risk Management Plan.
After a series of workshop sessions, three (3) participants were selected to present their project proposals. Output were assessed as to the Gender Responsiveness of the Project through the use of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) sectoral checklist.
Notably, the participants expressed their gratitude to the resource person, Dr.ย Ferdinand P. Gonzales, and to ATI-RTC 1 for organizing the training, stating that it was highly relevant, engaging, eye-opening, and provided a safe space for open discussion about gender roles, inequalities, and institutional biases.
