To ensure the sustainability of coconut production and establish income-generating opportunities for coconut farmers, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I), in collaboration with the Philippine Coconut Authority and graduates of the Training of Trainers (TOT) on Coconut Production and Nursery Establishment, conducted the Training on Coconut Production and Nursery Establishment (Batch 1) on July 2–4, 2025, at Manalo’s Integrated Farm, Barangay Tipor, Bani, Pangasinan.
The training aimed to capacitate coconut farmers with essential knowledge and practical skills in coconut production and nursery establishment. A total of 26 coconut farmers from the BATIRI Tribal Farmer Irrigators Association and RUARC Cooperative benefited from the training.
The sessions included lectures and discussions focused on coconut production techniques and nursery development. A key highlight of the activity was the hands-on demonstration and return demonstration on coconut plantation and field lay outing.
The resource speakers were graduates of the TOT on Coconut Production and Nursery Establishment from the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bani, fulfilling their action plans developed during their previous training.
The training is CPD-accredited with 10 points in Agriculture. At the end of the activity, participants developed group action plans as their commitment to apply the knowledge gained and continue their learning on their respective farms.
