Cagayan de Oro City— To strengthen the implementation of the organic agriculture program in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) continuously capacitates local technicians on various sustainable technologies.
ATI-RTC X conducted the first batch of this year’s Training on Organic Agriculture Technologies on June 15–19, 2026, at the Country Village Hotel, Villarin St., Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
A total of 21 participants, composed of Organic Agriculture focal persons and Local Government Unit (LGU) personnel, actively participated in the five-day training. The activity was designed to enhance their knowledge and establish a unified understanding of various organic agriculture technologies, approaches, and practices that can be implemented in their respective localities. Specifically, it provided participants with a deeper understanding of key organic agriculture concepts, including the Organic Agriculture Act of 2010 (RA 10068) and its amendments under RA 11511, the Philippine National Standards (PNS) for Organic Agriculture, composting, vermiculture, organic concoctions and extracts production, as well as organic vegetable, chicken, and small ruminant production.
Likewise, the participants engaged in hands-on activities on concoction making and feed formulation to apply and assess their practical skills.
Through this initiative, ATI-RTC X continues to support LGUs and stakeholders by building their technical capacity and promoting sustainable, environment-friendly, and resilient organic agriculture practices across the region.(From reports of Cherry Agbon)
