ALUBIJID, Misamis Oriental– The Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) conducted the "ATIng Agri Extension on Wheels Community Caravan featuring AgriKids" on June 11, 2026, at Alubijid Central School in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental.
The activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and interest of the youth in agriculture through fun and interactive activities under the AgriKids Program.
In his welcome remarks, Alubijid Central School Principal Mr. Mark Joseph Jimenez expressed his gratitude to ATI for conducting this program that provides knowledge and interest to the students in agriculture. Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez also delivered a message, expressing the Agricultural Training Institute's continuous support in educating and inspiring the youth. She emphasized that regardless of the students' future career paths, they will always have the opportunity to contribute to the agricultural sector. Meanwhile, Ms. Mary Lie M. Suralta, Agriculturist I ug Project Officer, presented the general overview of the AgriKids Program.
Prior to the interactive learning sessions, the children had a wonderful time watching three AgriKids episodes. Following the video presentation, the event transitioned into engaging activities related to what they had watched, where they discussed the physical characteristics of plants, various types of vegetables, and the plant life cycle.
Following the educational sessions, the school will establish its own Gulayan sa Paaralan (School Vegetable Garden) to give students a hands-on venue to apply what they learned. As part of ATI’s support, they received a seedline tray, fertilizer, sprinkler and seeds.
Through this caravan, the students' understanding of foundational agricultural concepts was deeply enriched, underscoring the vital role of farming in food security and a sustainable future. ###
