MANOLO FORTICH, BUKIDNON TRAIN ITS AGRI WORKERS

The Municipal Agriculture Office of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon conduct a training for its Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs). Both old and new entrants in the office who stationed in all their barangays participated in the three-day Training on Extension Delivery System. These AEWs will then mentor the Barangay Agricultural Technicians (BAT) in the delivery of agricultural extension services in the barangay. 

The training was conducted at the Municipal Building of Manolo Fortich on February 21-23, 2023.

The training course was successfully conducted in close coordination and collaboration with ATI RTC X and the MA Office of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon through their Municipal Agriculturist, Ms. Gemma G. Cania.

The training was to enhance the capability of the AEW in terms of their knowledge and skill in order to deliver effectively quality extension services to their clients.

Three modules were undertaken: Module 1- Basics of Agricultural Extension, Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES), Salient Features of Mandanas Ruling and Magna Carta of AEWs; Module 2- Extension Approaches, Strategies and Methods, Extension Project, Modality and Intervention; Module 3 – Communication in the Context of Agricultural Extension, Facilitation Skills and Presentation Skill.

Resource Persons were Ms. Noemi Beth G. Macario, CESE, OIC Assistant Center Director/Chief of CDMS, Ms. Maria Eloisa A. Akut, Information Officer II/Chief-ISS and Teodosia D. Jaraba, Training Specialist III.

The training management was spearheaded by the staff from the MA Office in partnership with ATI staff.

As can be gleaned, the participants were eager to learn on all the modules and lessons undertaken.  They actively participated during the discussions and shared their knowledge and experiences. 

A micro-teaching was prepared and presented by all the AEWs which the dynamics that they have been through was well appreciated by them. They also prepared and submitted their individual action plan.

Worthy of mention was the support of the Municipal Councilor, Chairperson on the Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Raquel Abales-Bayacag, who was present all throughout the duration of the training course.

A total of sixteen (16) participants successfully finished the training course.
