DON CARLOS, BUKIDNON — To help boost livestock productivity and improve farmers’ livelihoods, the Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office X (DA-RFO X), equipped beneficiaries of the Carabao Multiplier LEED Project with essential knowledge and skills on carabao production and management during a three-day training held at Abellanosa Agricultural Learning Site Inc. in San Francisco.
The training gathered 23 participants from various farmers’ cooperatives and associations in Sapad, Lanao del Norte, Manolo Fortich, Malaybalay City, and Kitaotao in Bukidnon, and Villanueva, Misamis Oriental.
Mr. Gary D. Campomanes, one of the participants, expressed his gratitude for the training and the knowledge he gained on proper carabao production and management.
“I am very thankful to ATI for this opportunity because it is a great help to us farmers. I learned a lot about the proper care and management of carabaos, which we can directly apply to our project. Before, I used different practices, but now I have a clearer understanding and a more effective approach. Thank you very much for your support and for sharing your knowledge with us.” said Campomanes.
Through a combination of lectures and practical learning activities, participants enhanced their knowledge and skills in proper carabao care, feeding, breeding, health management, and production practices.
The activity forms part of the continuing efforts of ATI-RTC X and DA-RFO X to help farmers maximize the potential of carabao raising as a sustainable source of income, while contributing to the growth and development of the livestock industry in Northern Mindanao.
