CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, MISAMIS ORIENTAL — The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) was awarded with a plaque of recognition for its invaluable support and active partnership in driving agricultural programs across the Province of Misamis Oriental on May 18, 2026, Monday, at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, Cagayan de Oro City.
The award was presented by Misamis Oriental Provincial Governor, Hon Juliette T. Uy, who expressed her deep gratitude to partner agencies for their unwavering commitment and collaboration in delivering essential services and programs to local farmers and constituents. Center Director, Maria Lydia A. Echavez, alongside Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Assistant Center Director, Efren C. Macario, received the award.
Aligning priorities for sustainability, the Stakeholder’s Roundtable Discussion on Misamis Oriental’s Programs and Projects for CY 2026 took place on the same day, to serve as a strategic platform to harmonize provincial agricultural efforts with national government initiatives. Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) Administrator Ruel Gayoso emphasized that this alignment is crucial to ensuring the long-term sustainability of local developments.
According to Gayoso, the collaborative session enabled participating agencies to propose vital revisions or supplemental plans for the 2026 calendar year, tailoring project implementation to the distinct mandates of each agency while directly addressing the community's immediate needs.
As part of the presentations, Jhoylie Mae R. Caumban, Training Specialist III of ATI-RTC X, laid out the Center’s Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs) for Fiscal Year 2026. Other government offices in Region 10 also presented their respective plans, including Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office 10 – PRDP, Philippine Coconut Authority, National Food Authority, National Tobacco Administration, Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The event also served as an open forum to clarify rules for the Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) program. Director Echavez explained that eligible farms must feature unique innovations, and applicants must be registered in the RSBSA. Farm owners should be willing to share their knowledge, and neither of the owners must be employed as government employees. While entry-level LSAs do not need dormitory facilities, the LSAs must know rgar they also function as official training venues, and can access up to ₱150,000 of technical and financial grants, alongside expanded growth opportunities through strategic partnerships with the DTI and DOST.
