ATI-10 capacitates trainers on Coconut-Coffee Farming System

A five-day training titled Training of Trainers (TOT) on Coconut-Coffee Farming System was held recently, in partnership with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA)-Region 10. 

The training aimed to make the 21 participants from the different Municipal Agriculture Offices (MAO) be able to perform and deliver topics effectively and efficiently as trainers of the Training on Coconut-Coffee Farming System.

PCA representatives Letecia Ugmad, Crecil P. Llaguno, Adoracion Daculos, and Elsa Rodriquez served as resource speakers related to coconut-topics and shared updates of the coconut industry. Also, Bernie Allen Pagaduan and Marco Rodel Aragon, representatives from the Nestle Philippines-Bukidnon, shared their cultural practices of coffee production technology under coconut.

Participants performed practicum on the coconut field lay-outing, fertilization and selection of good quality seedlings for planting as well as coffee planting, grafting, pruning and maintenance.

Dr. Ma Chyrelyn A. Pace, Division Chief of PCA-10 attended the closing program and thanked the participants for their participation and for giving their time for the five-day training. “It is a good start that 21 trainers actively joined the training as you are our partners in the implementation of the CFIDP goals and program”, Dr. Pace said in her closing statement.
