The national celebration of the Filipino Food Month every April of the year highlights the need to promote and preserve Filipino delicacies and ensures that it is passed on to the next generation.

Series of webinars showcasing the vast Filipino cuisines will be aired for the whole month anchored to the theme, “Pagkaing Pilipino, Susi sa Pag-unlad at Pagbabago.”

For this year’s celebration, the Agricultural Training Institute-XI will be featuring “Nilotlot na Manok sa Gata”, a traditional dish of the Bagobo-Tagabawa tribe who are known as Southern Folks residing at the foot of the country’s tallest peak- Mt. Apo.

The dish is a native chicken cooked inside a bamboo stalk with coconut milk, lemongrass, ginger and other spices, and lemon basil herb to give a delicious and tasty aroma.

Aside from “Nilotlot”, side dish and appetizer such as “Ludang” and “Sayote” salad are also delightfully unique Bagobo cuisine as a pair for the “Nilotlot”, making the tasteful experience match their rich culture and tradition.

The episode will be aired during the culmination of the FFM on April 30, 2022 via social media pages.
