Panabo City— To foster innovation and strengthen the problem-solving skill of ATI-RTC XI staff, a three-day Learning and Development Training on Design Thinking was conducted on March 10-12 , 2025. Participated by 35 staff, the training aimed to cultivate creativity and develop solutions to improve programs and operations.
The training focused on applying Design Thinking principles to develop innovative solutions that address challenges specific to the staff's respective section. By embracing this approach, organizations can create more effective and user-centered innovations in their programs and operations.
Ms. Julieane Camile Lacsina, Co-founder and CEO of GOEdenPH, served as the resource person for the training. Through a series of discussions and workshops, she introduced participants to the five stages of Design Thinking: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test.
To reinforce learnings, participants engaged in various workshop activities such as creating empathy maps, formulating problem statements, developing customer personas, and drafting innovation proposals. The SCAMPER technique—Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate, and Reverse—was also utilized to stimulate creative problem-solving and generate innovative ideas.
On the final day, each section presented innovation proposals aimed at enhancing ATI-RTC XI’s future initiatives. These pitches showcased fresh ideas designed to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
One of the key insights from the training was that innovation does not have to be grand; what matters is its ability to solve problems, improve processes, and challenge conventional methods. Participants also recognized the value of Design Thinking beyond product development, seeing its relevance in program planning and service improvement.
By integrating this problem-solving framework, ATI-RTC XI strengthens its commitment to continuous progress. The training underscores the Center’s dedication to providing relevant, efficient, and responsive services that meet the evolving needs of its stakeholders.
