The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI) officially launched the Gravity Irrigation Sustainable Agriculture Cooperative (GISA Coop) as a new Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) on September 10, 2024.
GISA Coop, located in Barangay New Visayas, Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte, is an active cooperative that collaborates with the Department of Agriculture (DA) on various initiatives, particularly in rice machinery and commodities.
During the event, Sto. Tomas Mayor Roland Dejesica and ATI XI Center Director Alicia Rose D. Nebreja awarded the Learning Site Certificate to GISA Coopโs Board of Members and representatives.
Director Nebreja expressed her gratitude to the cooperative, saying, โThank you for opening new doors of opportunity for farmers in your area. This is just the first step, and I hope we continue working together to support our farmers.โ
Mayor Dejesica also praised GISA Coop's efforts, adding, "Letโs take care of the resources provided by the government. We will continue this partnership with ATI and other agencies to improve our farming practices."
The certification as an LSA will allow GISA Coop to receive technical and financial support from ATI, helping them further develop their services and strengthen ties with the local farming community.
