Kabacan, Cotabato—The Agricultural Training Institute–Regional Training Center XII, led by OIC-Center Director Jessie V. Beldia, Ph.D., formalized a partnership with the University of Southern Mindanao through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on April 23, 2026, at the Office of the University President. This agreement, signed alongside University President Jonald L. Pimentel, establishes a framework for collaborative support regarding agricultural education and capacity-building initiatives.
The partnership focuses on the implementation of scholarship programs, specifically the Educational Assistance for the Youth in Agriculture and the Educational Grant for Extension Workers. These programs are designed to improve access to education and technical training for students and professionals. By providing these resources, the collaboration aims to develop future leaders and extension workers who can facilitate advancements in the agricultural sector.
The signing ceremony was attended by key university and agency personnel, including Dr. Efren E. Magulama, Dean of the College of Agriculture, and Maria Leida Donque, OSA Director. Representing the training center were Accountant I Mikel John D. Ternida, Training Specialist III Simona P. Dela Cruz, and Training Specialist I and Scholarship Focal Person Gladys Hazel E. Café. This formal commitment ensures that both institutions can effectively coordinate their efforts in delivering educational support to the regional agricultural community.
By aligning their institutional resources, the two entities intend to create more opportunities for individuals to pursue specialized training in agricultural disciplines. This development contributes to the professionalization of the workforce, which is necessary for sustaining rural economic growth and enhancing the productivity of local farming systems.
