The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XII, through its Information Services Section, visited the South Cotabato State College in Surallah on April 7, 2026. The institutional visit focused on conducting a comprehensive orientation regarding the rigorous application and establishment process for the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Kiosk. This proactive engagement serves as a foundational step toward expanding the reach of standardized agricultural information systems within academic institutions.

The technical session significantly enhanced the college faculty's understanding of the structural differences and operational features of both the FITS Kiosk and the main FITS Center. Institutional experts detailed the specific functions and roles these information hubs play in rendering science-based agricultural data and technology services easily accessible to students, researchers, and local farmers. Alongside the core orientation, an E-Learning briefing was presented to demonstrate how digital platforms can be utilized to maximize knowledge sharing and accelerate technology transfer in modern agriculture.

This collaborative activity emphasized the vital role of strategic partnerships between national agencies and state colleges in strengthening localized agricultural extension services. By laying down the administrative and technical groundwork for the successful operation of the FITS Kiosk, both institutions are working to bridge the information gap in rural communities. The initiative ensures that the academe becomes an active partner in deploying relevant, data-driven farming technologies and resources across South Cotabato.
