The training cohort spent the morning session touring Cresenta Integrated Farm, a fully PhilGAP-certified enterprise located within Region XII. Welcomed by farm manager Gina Arpilleda, the participants observed the operational realities of maintaining a certified sustainable facility. Arpilleda shared practical insights into the farm's daily management workflows, showing how strict adherence to good agricultural practices maximizes production efficiency while preserving food safety and environmental resource quality.

The afternoon session shifted focus toward specialized coconut cultivation at the Philippine Coconut Authority - New Coconut Seed Production Center (PCA-NCSPC). Division Chief I Arnel P. Toraja received the delegation, reminding the trainees that their primary responsibility is to act as regional conduits who cascade these specialized skills back to their home municipalities. To arm them for this task, the center's agronomic staff conducted live field demonstrations detailing modern pest mitigation and nursery establishment:

    Integrated Pest Management: Technicians demonstrated the strategic installation and management of pheromone traps, a non-chemical method used to monitor and suppress devastating coconut beetle populations.

    Nursery Engineering: The field crew walked participants through the precise layouting and holing techniques required to establish a high-yield coconut nursery, emphasizing proper spacing and seedling depth.

By experiencing these standardized systems firsthand, the participants transitioned from conceptual understanding to practical competence. The field deployment ensures that the region's agricultural frontliners are fully capable of duplicating these science-based, sustainable methodologies within their respective farming communities, helping to modernize the broader coconut industry across Region XII.
