The Training on Inbred and Hybrid Rice Production Technologies for the Rice Clusters in Region XII (Batch 2) officially commenced on April 13, 2026 at Habi Hotel, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.

The activity opened with an inspiring welcome message from Dr. Jessie V. Beldia, ATI RTC XII OIC Center Director, setting the tone for a week of learning, collaboration, and capacity-building among rice farmers. This was followed by the presentation of the training overview by Engr. Jun Rey L. Samillano, ABE, Agriculturist II, which guided the participants on the objectives and activities lined up for the succeeding days.

The participants are composed of rice farmer leaders from South Cotabato, particularly from the municipalities of Santo Niño, Tantangan, and Surallah, who gathered to enhance their knowledge and skills in rice production technologies.

The first learning session was delivered by Ma’am Melissa Marie G. Bautista, EdD, who discussed the topic “Values Re-orientation and Transformational Leadership.” The session highlighted the importance of strengthening values, leadership, and mindset among farmers as key drivers toward sustainable agricultural development.
