Tantangan, South Cotabato — The second day of the Training on Copra Quality Assurance in Region XII (Batch 2) continued at the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center XII, focusing on improving production standards through Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Serving as the morning resource person, Mr. Rodney L. Peñafiel, Agricultural Technologist from the Office of the Municipal Agriculture–Esperanza, discussed Good Agricultural Practices on Coconut Production. He emphasized the importance of proper planting, cultivation, and selection of high-quality varieties to ensure safe, nutritious, and premium-grade coconut yields.

In the afternoon, Mr. Jiez Reel Tangunan, Coconut Production and Regulations Officer III of PCA Region XII, shared insights on Good Manufacturing Practices on Coconut Production. His discussion highlighted key protocols and safety standards vital for producing high-quality copra that meets both local and international market requirements.

This ongoing initiative underscores ATI-RTC XII’s commitment to strengthening the skills of coconut farmers and ensuring sustainable, high-quality copra production across the region.
