Sixteen Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students majoring in Agricultural Extension from the University of Southern Mindanao finished a two-month internship at ATI-RTC XII, which concluded with a final activity held on April 16, 2026. The program included the awarding of certificates, recognition for outstanding interns, and presentations from selected students regarding their experiences during the training.
The event was attended by ATI-RTC XII OIC Assistant Center Director Hannadi Guimad-Pompong, USM BSA Agricultural Extension Department Chair Gelyn V. Amilbahar, and several ATI-RTC XII staff members, including Admin Officer IV Jey Ann Magana, OJT Focal Person and Dormitory Manager II Jim Raborar, and OJT Assistant Focal Person Rosemarie Nono. The presence of these officials emphasized the collaborative effort between the academic institution and the training center in preparing the students for their future professional roles.
This activity demonstrates the commitment of ATI-RTC XII to function as a training ground for future Agricultural Extension Workers in the region. By providing practical exposure to agricultural extension services, the internship prepares students to apply their academic knowledge to field operations. This development benefits the participants' future careers and strengthens the agricultural extension workforce, ultimately contributing to the improvement of agricultural support and the long-term productivity of local farming communities.
