LAMITAN CITY, Basilan-Fifty (50) coconut farmers attended the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Program (CFIDP) Information Caravan last February 13, 2023 at the Basilan Government Center, Sta. Clara, Lamitan City, Basilan.

The caravan's primary goal is to raise awareness about the Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund (CFITF) and encourage farmers to participate in the various CFITF interventions.

CFIDP implementing agencies such as the Philippine Coconut Authority-BARMM and Basilan Province, the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR)- Basilan, Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism (MTIT), and PhilMech XII provided updates on their respective programs and interventions under CFIDP.

An opening message was delivered by Information Officer III Hannadi S. Guiamad-Pompong and the briefer on why the caravan is conducted was delivered by Training Specialist II and CFIDP Focal Person for BARMM Engr. Mokles Buisan.

In addition to the interventions and programs, coco farmers also expressed their concerns and issues to implementing agencies during the open forum.

This CFIDP Information Caravan in Basilan was held through the strong partnerships and collaborations among ATI-RTC XII, PCA-BARMM and PCA-Basilan headed by Division Chief I Mr. Diosdado Espinosa, Jr. along with his staff.

This caravan is the third among the nine batches of caravans targeted by the Center with 2 remaining batches for BARMM
