On May 11, 2024, participants showcased their hands-on knowledge in pest management through actual demonstrations of rouging and Agro-Ecosystem Analysis (AESA) at the University of Southern Mindanao Agricultural Research Center (USMARC) in Kabacan, Cotabato. These activities allowed participants to share field experiences and engage in interactive discussions, promoting a collective learning environment. The knowledge gained from these demonstrations will enable participants to enhance pest management practices in their local communities.

On May 13, 2024, Ms. Marjie D. Lastimoso, Agriculturist II from the Bureau of Plant Industry - National Seed Quality Control Services XII (BPI-NSQCS), began her session with a discussion on the mechanics, policies, and guidelines for Seed Grower Accreditation and Seed Certification. She also provided insights into seed bagging, pilling, and tagging, equipping participants with crucial skills in seed handling.

Ms. Shirley A. Balidiong, Science Research Technician II from BPI-NSQCS, followed with a detailed overview of field inspection, seed certification, and seed tagging for approved varieties. She discussed seed testing methods, including germination and varietal purity tests, physical purity evaluations, and moisture content determination, all aimed at ensuring high seed quality and optimizing crop yields. The participants had the opportunity to practice seed testing, further enhancing their understanding of seed evaluation and certification processes.

This comprehensive training is expected to improve agricultural productivity and seed quality management in their respective localities.
