Koronadal City, South Cotabato – The pilot batch of AgriTalk through ATIng Extension on Wheels successfully launched at City Mall, Koronadal City, introducing participants to Hydroponics Technology as a sustainable and space-efficient urban farming solution.

Mr. Christian ‘Kian’ Castañeda, Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) Owner of Organikian Urban Farm, led an engaging session on Hydroponics Technology, demonstrating how families can cultivate their own vegetables even in limited backyard spaces. He also highlighted the increasing market demand for fresh, hydroponically grown lettuce, encouraging participants to explore urban farming opportunities.

To further support urban agriculture, the Department of Agriculture - Regional Field Office XII (DA-RFO XII), through its National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program, distributed ten (10) hydroponics kits to selected participants via a raffle draw. This initiative aims to empower attendees to establish their own hydroponic gardens at home.

Over 50 participants attended the event, gaining valuable insights on Hydroponics Technology, the e-Extension Program, and AgriKids. Additionally, Mr. Ronald Pacol, FITS Center Manager of OPAg-South Cotabato, guided participants on how to navigate the ATI e-Learning portal, making agricultural knowledge more accessible to learners of all ages.
