REMEDIOS T. ROMUALDEZ, Agusan del Norte- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 evaluated the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Kiosk of HR-Eco Farm on April 13, 2022.

OIC-Center Director Fil Victor A. Babanto spearheaded the evaluation activity at HR Eco-Farm on April 13, 2022 with the presence of RTR Municipal Agriculturist Maria Nenita T. Daohog and Farm Owner Hernanita Bacquial as interviewee.

Said Farm is a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) of ATI-RTC 13 which was certified on October 20, 2020. Owned by Hernanita M. Bacquial as Learning Site for Agriculture Cooperator from Brgy. Panaytayon, RTR, Agusan del Norte. The 5-hectare farmland is planted with rice, coconut, fruit trees, banana, vegetables and other high value crops. Flowering plants together with livestock and poultry raised rolled into one which made it integrated.

Various Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials was also given to Ms. Bacquial for the farm’s FITS Kiosk display. Farmers, students and other farm visitors can learn more and be updated specifically on modern farming technologies by reading printed materials. In return, they may apply to their own farms what they have learned.

Evaluators from ATI-RTC 13 was headed by OIC-Center Director Fil Victor A. Babanto. Together with Ginalyn V. Arbutante, Information Officer II and John Paul Abonitalla, Technical Staff. Both from the Information Services Section (ISS). On the other hand, RTR Municipal Agriculturist Maria Nenita T. Daohog and her staff Cherrie Mae Berganio joined in the team.

Bacquial expressed her profound gratitude to the Institute for granting her request to establish a FITS Kiosk as an avenue in helping more co-farmers in the said locality. Enhancement of the said FITS Kiosk will be realized soon and additional Information and Communications Technology (ICT) equipment will be provided.

LSA Farm FITS Kiosk establishment is under the scope of Techno Gabay Program (TGP) of the ATI. A delivery system established to improve access of farmers, traders, processors, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders to information and technology services.

The evaluation activity was simultaneously conducted with the awarding of Certificate to Ms. Bacquial as Learning Site for Agriculture Cooperator.
