OIC Director IV Remelyn R. Recoter served as Keynote Speaker during  the 6th Techno Gabay Program Summit  in Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City on January 17-20, 2023.

BUTUAN CITY- With the theme “Intensifying Transfer of Technology through Knowledge Sharing and Strong Linkages”, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and Farmers convene for the 6th Regional Techno Gabay Program (TGP) Summit on January 17-20, 2023. Activities for the first two days were held at Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City while benchmarking to selected Learning Sites for Agriculture was held in Misamis Occidental, Region 10.   

The TGP summit is aimed at assessing the accomplishments of the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers in Region 13 for 2022 at the same time conduct a planning workshop for the upcoming undertakings in CY 2023.

More than 100 participants comprising AEWs as FITS Center staff and Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) joined in the said summit. Representatives from the Partner Agencies such as Caraga State University, North Eastern Mindanao State University, Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology and Surigao del Norte State University also took part during the summit.

OIC Center Director Fil Victor A. Babanto of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 welcomed everyone during the opening program. He also presented the accomplishment reports for those FITS centers which were enhanced under the Rice Crop Manager (RCM).

Moreover, Mr. Rodel Pasion from the Caraga State University presented the Roles and Functions of FITS Staff and Magsasaka Siyentista during the program. On the other hand, selected FITS Center managers and staff also presented their accomplishment reports along with the sharing of best practices among FITS Centers in the region.  

Partner Agencies were also given time to talk as to their possible contributions to their respective FITS Center when it comes to training and manpower as Subject Matter Specialist on a specific technology. Participants were able to formulate plans and programs for their respective FITS center with the help and supervision of the Partner Agencies. The CaMaSA Inc., an association of Magsasaka Siyentistas also had their meeting for their future plans.

Meanwhile, ATI Director IV Remelyn R. Recoter encouraged participants to continue in serving and inspiring others by innovating more as to best practices which can be emulated by other stakeholders throughout the region.

The group visited Mr. Dega Farm and Hoyohoy Highland Stone Chapel Adventure Park in Tangub City and Immaculate Conception School of Technology (ICST) Farm in Ozamis City during the benchmarking activity for the last two days of the summit.
