PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – The 1st Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Services (PAFES) monthly coordination meeting kicked off on January 30, 2024, at Hygeia Intrameds, Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

The meeting, presided over by Armando Valiente, Provincial Agriculturist, marked the commencement of a series of monthly gatherings aimed at strengthening coordination among key stakeholders in the agricultural sector. Assisting Valiente in leading the meeting were June Anthony Ouano, Chief of the Department of Agriculture - Agricultural Program Coordinating Office (DA-APCO), and Ceasar Burdeos, LeMMCAP Regional President. The presence of these key figures underscored the collaborative effort among key entities for the advancement of agriculture in the region.

Among the notable attendees were Michael Leo Torralba, Executive Assistant; Municipal Agriculturists; and representatives from National Government Agencies (NGAs), namely the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Agriculture (DA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), and PhilMech.

The meeting provided a platform for open discussions, knowledge-sharing, and strategic planning. Attendees delved into various agricultural initiatives, discussed upcoming projects, and exchanged insights on addressing challenges faced by the local farming community.

The agenda of the meeting included the Marketing Assistance and Linkages System (MALS), CPAFEP Updates, Updates on Consolidated Damage Report, and presentation of PPAs for CY 2024 by the PLGU of Agusan del Sur and NGAs.
