SOCORRO, Surigao del Norte – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 (ATI-RTC 13) joined the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 13 (DA-RFO 13), other National Government Agencies (NGAs), Local Government Unit of Surigao del Norte and Socorro, and the Socorro Empowered People’s Cooperative (SOEMCO) in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of the Socorro Agri-Fishery Enterprise Development Program (SAFEDP) on August 18, 2022.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) of the Socorro Agri-Fishery Enterprise Development Program (SAFEDP) took place at the SOEMCO Function Hall, Socorro, Surigao del Norte on August 18, 2022.

Riza Rafonselle Timcang, Municipal Mayor of Socorro, expressed her commitment to SAFEDP while conveying her gratitude to the NGAs and other partners for their pledge of support toward the development of Socorro. Her Vice-Mayor, Gemma Ocon, was also present to deliver her words of welcome to the guests.

Edelito Sangco, Municipal Agriculturist of Socorro, explained to the guests and participants that the objectives of SAFEDP are to promote environmentally sustainable and market-responsive farm production among farmers and fishers, increase their knowledge and skills, productivity, and income towards food security and sustainable growth.

The ATI-RTC 13 is committed to providing technical/training, financial, and infrastructure support to the program, especially to SOEMCO’s Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA).

Among the heads of office and personalities who were present during the signing were Dr. Nilo Katada (Regional Director, BFAR-13), Dr. Life Shiela Cubillanes (Provincial Veterinarian), Jodel Tabada (DA-PRDP RPCO 13 Deputy Project Director), Reynerio Canta Sr. (Chief Executive Officer, SOEMCO), Aga Ver Galanida (Socorro Tourism Officer), and some members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
