LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 13 and the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 13 met on April 18, 2022 at the VCDU Prince Hotel Convention Center in Brgy. Villa Kananga for the planning of activities for the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES).

The gathering, which was spearheaded by OIC Center Director of ATI-RTC 13 Fil Victor A. Babanto, discussed the accomplishment report of Caraga region during the 1st quarter, the finalization of schedules for April and May 2022, and the hosting of the League of Municipal Agricultural Officers / Municipal and City Agriculturists of the Philippines (LeMMCAP) Convention in July of this year. It was learned during the discussions that the April schedules of the planning workshops were not met because the Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs) have decided to move it to May. It will only be Surigao del Norte that will have its planning workshop this month (April 26-27) while the rest of the non-pilot provinces will have it next month.

Also, the Agricultural Program Coordinating Offices (APCOs) in the region have promised to furnish ATI with the necessary documents particularly the Participant’s Information Sheet and Feedback Form to comply with the requirements of the ATI Central Office.

The date of the LeMMCAP Regional Convention will be on July 22, 2022. Topics to be included are the DA New Directives by DA-Central Office, Coconut Farmers and Industry Trust Fund (CFITF) - R.A. 11524, Full Devolution in Relation to Agriculture by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

PAFES
As lead convenors of PAFES, key personnel from DA-RFO 13 and ATI-RTC 13 met on April 18, 2022 for the planning of PAFES activities.
