Municipal and City Agriculturists, SB members, private sector, LGU personnel, and key employees from DA-RFO 13 and ATI-RTC 13 participated in the Stakeholders Consultation of PAFES in Surigao del Norte last March 17, 2022.

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte - Sixty (60) Local Government Unit (LGU) officials and stakeholders in the agriculture and fisheries sector in the province attended the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) Consultation on March 17, 2022 at JB Nature Farm, Brgy. Sukailang, Surigao City.

OIC Regional Technical Director for Operation (OIC RTD) Rebecca Atega of the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 13 (DA-RFO -13) expressed her gratitude to the attendees for prioritizing the activity which requires strong partnerships and cooperation between the government, private sector, and the civil society.

Moreover, Provincial Agriculturist Ruby Ann Lagahit said that PAFES may just be that glimmer of hope for the Surigaonons and the AF sector after being ravaged by Supertyphoon Odette late last year.
Aside from RTD Rebecca Atega and PA Ruby Ann Lagahit, also in attendance were Municipal/City Agriculturists, SB Members, private sector, LGU personnel, and key employees from DA-13 and ATI-RTC 13.

After the series of PAFES engagements in Surigao del Norte, the province is optimistic about this new system and will in fact be signing the PAFES Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on March 22, 2022 in order to jumpstart its implementation.
