LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – In connection to the implementation of the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES), thirty-one farmer-leaders, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), and DA personnel joined the Training Workshop on Business Plan Preparation with Digital Farmers Program on October 24-28, 2022 at the Golden Tara Hall, ATI-RTC 13.

The training aimed to capacitate farmers- leaders, AEWs, and DA personnel in the formulation of the Business Plan and at the same time to be equipped with knowledge and skills on how to use basic digital tools including social media, climate, and weather monitoring applications, and online payment options. This is to equip them in their roles in the implementation of PAFES.

Through a series of lectures and workshops from the resource person, the participants learned how to write a more appealing business plan. Following the discussions, the participants drafted their business plans and gave them to the panel of experts, which included the resource person and employees of the Land Bank of the Philippines. During the Digital Farmers Program, they were informed about the different digital farm applications and tools to strengthen the digitalization of farming and agribusiness activities in the region. The use of social media in marketing strategy can help the enterprise expand its market and increase awareness among its target consumers.

The participants will be monitored for their re-entry plans after six (6) months after the training.

During the closing program, Lucillo Delarwente expressed his gratitude to ATI for the opportunity in taking part in the training. “For me as a participant and a new AEW it is very useful for us to be trained to help us in the preparation of our proposals in the future. In the last two days we are also very thankful for the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 101 and 102 because it can help our farmers with digital marketing,” he said. (with the report from Violeta T.
