BUTUAN CITY. The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII conducted its “OK sa OA: School-on-the-Air (SOA) on Organic Agriculture” briefing on April 19, 2022, in partnership with the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) of Surigao del Norte. This was participated by Mr. Angel R. Fazon II, from Provincial Agriculture Office with the Municipal Agriculturists and Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) of the 21 participating Local Government Units (LGUs) in the said province.

SOA on Organic
Representatives from PAO, municipal agriculturists, and Organic Agriculture coordinators from the province of Surigao del Norte attended the briefing of “OK sa OA: School-on-the-Air on Organic Agriculture” last April 19, 2022 at VCDU Prince Hotel and Convention Center, Villa Kananga, Butuan City.

Maria Den B. Parro assigned Project Officer for SOA on Organic Agriculture from ATI-Caraga presented the overview of the SOA program which will run for four months. The setting of targets, finalization of modules, identification of resource persons, a preferred partner radio station on which audience reach was considered, final timeslot and day, and the roles and responsibilities of the municipal and provincial agricultural technologists, PAO, and ATI-RTC XIII. It was highlighted by an open forum.

Attendees gave their support and commitment in the enrollment of SOA students, to wit: Alegria-25, Bacuag-40, Burgos-13, Claver-60, Dapa-14, Del Carmen-14, General Luna-14, Gigaquit-30, Mainit-50, Malimono-25, Pilar-30, Placer-14, San Benito-14, San Francisco-25, San Isidro-25, Sta. Monica-14, Sison-30, Socorro-14, Tagana-an-14, Tubod-25, and Surigao City-60.

The said SOA program is funded under the Organic Agriculture Program of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII. This is set to start on the 2nd or 3rd week of June and will be anchored by Angel R. Fazon II, the provincial farmcaster and SOA coordinator.
