BUTUAN CITY – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII successfully conducted a five-day Resource Person Development Course from May 4–8, 2026, at the Golden Tara Hall, ATI-Caraga, Los Angeles, Butuan City.

The training aimed to enhance the presentation and communication skills of participants to help them effectively serve as resource persons in their respective offices and communities.

A total of 26 participants attended the activity, including Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from the four provinces of the Caraga Region, as well as personnel from the Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA)-Caraga and the Department of Agriculture-Caraga.

Facilitated by ATI-Caraga staff, the training covered topics such as the roles and qualities of resource persons, adult learning principles, situational leadership, responsible adult communication, and the preparation of instructional materials and lesson presentation plans. The facilitators included Information Officer II Ressell Angelie Fetalsana, Information Officer III Jason Paul Dads E. Jampac, Media Production Specialist II Mary Grace B. Salve, and Ms. Ginalyn V. Arbutante.

Participants also took part in workshops, role-playing activities, and microteaching sessions designed to strengthen their confidence and skills in public speaking, facilitation, and lesson delivery.

According to Archie Polina-Dalman, an AEW from the Bislig City Agriculture Office, the training was a transformative experience that emphasized the importance of communication, leadership, and service in extension work. “The course strengthened my confidence in public speaking, facilitation, and lesson delivery while teaching us the value of clarity, empathy, patience, and passion in every interaction with farmers and stakeholders,” Polina-Dalman shared.

The training concluded with a closing program and the awarding of certificates to participants. The activity was spearheaded by the Career Development and Management Section of ATI-Caraga, with Ms. Ginalyn V. Arbutante serving as Project Officer and Anne James B. Correa as part of the Training Management Team.
