BUTUAN CITY — The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII successfully conducted a three-day "Training on Beef Cattle Production and Management" from May 13 to 15, 2026, at the Golden Tara Hall, ATI-RTC 13, Los Angeles, Butuan City.

The intensive training program equipped participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to establish, manage, and sustain a profitable beef cattle enterprise.

The resource persons included Mr. Mark Joserie Grana and Mr. Euniel G. Atalo of the Department of Agriculture-Caraga Region, Dr. Adrian Joseph Heraña and Mr. Emmanuel Iligan, both from the National Dairy Authority, Dr. Jayzel O. De La Peña from Caraga State University.

The training covered topics on Industry trends, challenges, and market value chain development, Proper breed selection, housing design, and efficient production systems, Animal breeding, genetic improvement, and forage/feed resource management, Good animal husbandry practices, farm biosecurity, and disease prevention, and the importance of meticulous farm record-keeping.

To bridge theory and practice, the participants visited the Provincial Diversified Farm in Los Angeles, Butuan City and Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte on the final day, where they observed best practices in cattle management.

The training concluded with the participants formulating and presenting their respective re-entry plans, which they will implement in their home communities. To ensure the sustainability of the program, ATI-RTC 13 committed to conducting monitoring activities six months from now to evaluate the progress and success of these community re-entry plans.
