RTROMUALDEZ, Agusan del Norte – The Agricultural Training Institute – Caraga (ATI Caraga), through its Information Services Section (ISS), actively participated in the “Linggo ng Kabataan 2025” celebration spearheaded by the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Balangbalang on August 15, 2025. The event aimed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities necessary to prepare them to become effective contributors to their communities through the use of modern technologies.
With the theme centered on empowering the youth, the program provided a platform to highlight agriculture not only as a livelihood but also as a stable and fulfilling career path for the future generation. The activity encouraged young leaders to see farming as an evolving profession that integrates technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Jason Paul Dads E. Jampac, ISS Chief, led an e-Learning briefing where he introduced participants to free and affordable online courses available through elearn.e-extension.gov.ph. The initiative, under ATI’s e-Extension Program, offers valuable learning materials that support both students and aspiring agri-preneurs in building their competencies.
Additionally, Ms. Sophia Jadassah Moleta, Technical Staff of ATI Caraga, provided an overview of the Digital Farmers Program (DFP), a joint initiative between ATI and SMART Communications, Inc. The program seeks to improve farmers’ livelihoods by teaching them how to maximize basic digital tools, agri applications, and social media for farming and agribusiness.
The celebration highlighted the important role of the youth in shaping the future of agriculture. By engaging with programs that blend traditional practices with modern solutions, young participants were encouraged to embrace leadership, innovation, and active involvement in ensuring food security and rural development.
