RTRomualdez, Agusan del Norte - In support of the Philippine National Nutrition Council’s celebration of Nutrition Month this July, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII officially kicked off its series of outreach activities under its Gender and Development Program with the theme, “Himsog nga Kabataan, Malipayong Katilingban” at Brgy. Basilisa Covered Court on July 10, 2024

The program aims to promote and raise awareness of healthy nutrition and food security practices in every Filipino household. It was participated by 100 children in the said barangay. It was implemented in coordination with the Provincial Agriculture Office of Agusan del Norte.

It was attended by ATI OIC-Center Director Jessie V. Beldia, Brgy. Captain Roberto Napole, PAO – Agusan del Norte Agricultural Technologist II Myra Laga, and RTR Municipal Nutrition Action Office Designate Ma. Lorena S. Ardecer, RN.

Moreover, the participants were oriented on the importance of a well-balanced diet through Ms. Ardecer, as a resource person. They received kits composed of tumblers, tote bags, pencil, and envelopes. They also were provided with snacks and lunch.

All in all, the said one-day outreach program will be implemented in one community per province in the Caraga Region within this month of July.
