BUTUAN CITY – Twenty-one representatives from Caraga Regional offices of the Department of Agriculture (DA), National Meat Inspection Services (NMIS), and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) participated during the Training of Trainers on the Preparation of Gender Responsive Agricultural Plans Batch II on August 5-9, 2024 at Gloreto Luxury Hotel.

The training aimed to raise the level of awareness of Gender Sensitivity and the use of the Gender Mainstreaming Evaluation Framework (GMEF) and Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) as relevant tools in the implementation of the GAD Program.

Topics discussed delved into the concepts of basic gender and development, Gender Socialization, Roles Stereotypes, and Biases, Gender Mainstreaming and Gender Fair Language, Gender Analysis and tools, GAD Planning and Budgeting, and Entry points of Gender Mainstreaming. Partakers were able to present the score sheets using the GMEF and HGDG Tools during their workshops.

“With this training and the expertise of the speaker, we realized that there is a need to integrate and include women because they are important parts of the society. What makes me happy is that I now have a little spark of advocacy and want to protect women's rights. I am happy that ATI continues to support GAD in our country,” said Glenn B. Tabiola, one of the participants from the DA Caraga Region Operations Division.
