CLARK, Pampanga – The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII actively participated in the 20th Knowledge Exchange Conference (KEC20), conducted by the Philippine Community eCenter Network (PhilCeCNet), held on October 2–3, 2025. Six staff members from ATI-RTC XIII joined the event, along with representatives from two Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers of the Department of Agriculture – Research Experiment Stations in Talacogon and Trento, Agusan del Sur.

With the theme “Empowering Communities: Leveraging Technology for Inclusive Reach”, KEC20 provided participants with an avenue to share knowledge, best practices, and innovations that strengthen the role of ICT in inclusive community development. This year’s conference focused on advancing digital inclusion, strengthening eCenters, and addressing emerging challenges in the digital age. Sessions highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence, data security, and sustainable ICT practices in promoting equitable access to technology and fostering resilient communities.

One of the highlights of the conference was the message delivered by Dr. Melinda Bandalaria, a founding member of PhilCeCNet. She emphasized that the primary reason why PhilCeCNet was established is for the people. “As people in the public service, our inspiration should be the people we serve. Technology and innovation should be for the people,” Dr. Bandalaria stressed, underlining the essence of inclusive ICT initiatives.

The event also served as a platform for exchanging experiences among different institutions, encouraging collaboration in maximizing the potential of ICT tools. By sharing success stories and lessons learned, participants were able to explore ways to adapt these strategies to their own communities.

Through the lectures and discussions during the conference, participants gained valuable insights into cybersecurity, data privacy, ethical use of AI, and eCenter sustainability. These learnings are expected to enhance their services and operations, equipping them with better skills to support digital empowerment and foster community development in their respective areas.
