LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – In response to the request of the Brgy. Women’s Association request, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII provided various vegetable seeds and farm tools and materials that the group could use in their campaign for backyard gardening as a source of food in times of crises especially with the recent typhoon Odette.

The seeds include okra, sweet pepper, squash, cucumber, eggplant, pechay, ampalaya, lettuce, pole sitao, radish, tomato, and upland kangkong. Also, the following are the garden tools that were also given: dull bolo, hand shovel, hand sprayer, hand rake, seedling tray, 5-liter sprinkler, and pruning shears.

Association President, Mrs. Eleniza A. Anoos, received the mentioned extension support under the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) and Organic Agriculture (OA) Program.
