LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII conducted its information caravan for the Youth Internship Program in Organic Agriculture (OA) for FY 2024-2025 on January 26, 2024 at Golden Tara Hall.

The one-day event was attended by youth, students, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), farmers, and farm owners/ managers. It aims to disseminate the internship program’s criteria, mechanics, and implementation on which participants will be youth and potential farm partners in the Caraga Region.

Further, the internship program is a collaborative effort between the Department of Agriculture (DA) – National Organic Agriculture Program (NOAP), and ATI. It aims to encourage the youth, and develop and train them to become organic farmers and practitioners.

It is comprised of nine months of schooling and on-site training to the farm partners and one year of hands-on practice and implementation of the proposed organic enterprise. Moreover, this program also supports the trainees until they can establish their proposed organic enterprise and make a profit from it.
