Alejandro Bagnol, Asst. Provincial Agriculturist of Surigao del Norte, gave his message encouraging the participants to extend their AFE needs to be capacitated and be more effective AEWs in the field.

SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII led the conduct of the Surigao del Norte Provincial Consultation Workshop for FY 2025 Agriculture and Fisheries Extension (AFE) Needs on March 17, 2023 at JB Nature Farm and Resort, Brgy. Sukailang.

This is to harmonize AFE needs among extension service providers in preparation for the implementation of full devolution in accordance to Executive Order no. 28 series of 2008.

It was participated by representatives from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg), Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO), Municipal/City Agriculture Offices, PVet Surigao City, Department of Agriculture (DA) Caraga Region through its Agricultural Program Coordinating Office (APCO) represented by Marco Anthony Morido. Other participants from the cooperatives and Learning Site Cooperators were also present.

Each agency worked on and presented its identified AFE Needs for 2025. Issues, concerns, and agreements were also discussed.

“Surigao del Norte is rich when it comes to agriculture and fishery products. We are proud of that and we are thankful for the opportunity to lay-out the needs of the sector from each of our agencies. We thank ATI for this chance to enhance the skills and capacity of our AEWs who are our prime workers in the field,” said Alejandro Bagnol, Asst. Provincial Agriculturist.
