USeP-Tagum grad school students visit ATI 13

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City - Twenty-one (21) Graduate School students headed by Fernando Magdato Jr., program head, MExEd, MSAgEx of Agriculture and Related Sciences at the University of Southeastern Philippines in Apokon, Tagum City, Davao del Norte, visited the ATI-RTC XIII during their educational field tour as part of the requirements for EXED Research Extension Linkages on November 10, 2023.

The primary objective of the field tour was to provide students a tangible and hands-on exposure to key institutions and facilities directly relevant to their field of study. Thus, by venturing beyond the confines of traditional classroom learning, students were granted the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the dynamic realm of agriculture and related sciences.

Engr. Matt Andrew Baquiano, Senior Agriculturist of ATI-RTC XIII shared his experiences, future programs, and interventions of the agricultural extension system in the Philippines and in the region. Leveraging his expertise, he also discussed some insights into the challenges faced by the center and the context of the agricultural extension world. His discoursed extended to the innovative coping mechanisms employed by the institute to overcome these challenges and offer students a real-world perspective on problem-solving in the field of agriculture.

Furthermore, the session was enriched with an exploration of the best practices embraced by ATI RTC 13. Engr. Baquiano, drawing from his extensive professional journey, elucidated the strategies and methodologies that have proven successful in enhancing agricultural practices and research outcomes (with a report from Caerian Muga).
