BUTUAN CITY – In partnership with the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA) Caraga Chapter, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII conducted the "VetWonder: Advanced Skills Development Training for Veterinarians" on October 28-30, 2024, at Golden Tara Hall, ATI-RTC XIII, Los Angeles.

The training aimed to re-equip participants with advanced knowledge and skills in veterinary science and medicine. Attendees engaged in discussions on climate-controlled and bio-secured housing facilities, waste management, mortality composting for the proper disposal of dead animals, and the concept and efficacy of ASF vaccines.

A total of 27 participants performed basic veterinary health services for cattle, carabaos, goats, and poultry.

“This training focuses more on skills and development, which is highly beneficial for us. We have deepened our understanding of modern veterinary practices, which will greatly help our community. As the first point of contact for our clients' livestock and poultry problems, this training is invaluable,” said Dr. Jayzel O. dela Peña, a participant from the Municipal Agriculture Office of Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.
