LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 will be conducting three (3) batches of training on Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 102 in March 2022. The 1st batch will be held at Tandag City on March 8-9, 2022, the 2nd batch will be held at Cagwait, Surigao del Sur on March 10-11, 2022, and the 3rd batch will be held at Esperanza, Agusan del Sur on March 14-15, 2022.

This is in coordination with the City/Municipal Agriculture Office of said Local Government Units (LGUs). This will be participated by (10) pairs of farmers and their youth counterparts.

The DFP 102 is the second course in the three-level program that aims to encourage farmers to utilize technologies in farming. This course focuses on in-depth applications in agriculture and e-commerce and usage of social media and smartphones in boosting farming productivity.

During the training, the participants will be introduced to advanced mobile applications such as Plant Doctor, SPIDTECH and other Digital Agriculture Tools. Plant Doctor and SPIDTECH are agri-mobile apps that provide an online diagnosis to plant diseases. These applications are designed to aid farmers in treating common crop problems caused by insects, pests, and other factors.

Furthermore, participants will undergo lectures and hands-on activities on advanced social media marketing, e-commerce platforms, and online transactions using mobile money or the PayMaya app.

Maria Den B. Parro (Agriculturist I), Ressell Angelie S. Fetalsana, (Information Officer II), Ginalyn V. Arbutante (Information Officer II), and John Paul B. Abonitalla (Technical staff) both from the Information Services Section (ISS) of ATI-Caraga will be the resource persons during the training.
