SURIGAO DEL SUR- The second level of the training on Digital Farmers Program culminated in Tandag City and Cagwait, Surigao del Sur on March 9 and 11, 2022, respectively.

A total of forty-one (41) completers comprising farmers and youths received their Certificates of Participation during the closing program of the said locality. This was conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13.

The DFP 102 is the second course in the three-level program that aims to encourage farmers to utilize technologies in farming. It focuses on in-depth applications on agriculture and e-commerce as well as usage of social media and smartphones in boosting their farming productivity.

It covers the topics on Advanced Agricultural Applications, Advanced Social Media Marketing, e-Commerce and Introduction to Online Transaction. With various outputs accomplished by the participants such as social media marketing plans, dream boards, posters, PayMaya accounts and a lot more.

The four-day training was facilitated and lectured by Ms. Maria Den Parro, Ressel Angelie Fetalsana, Ginalyn Arbutante and John Paul Abonitalla. The team are all from the Information Services Section of the ATI-RTC 13.

The success of the training would not be possible without the strong linkages and support from the City and Municipal Agriculture Offices of Tandag and Cagwait in Surigao del Sur. The Digital Farmers Program is in partnership between the ATI and Smart Communications, Inc.
