SURIGAO CITY, Surigao del Norte – City and Municipal Agriculturists and Planning Officers of Surigao del Norte prepared their agriculture and fisheries interventions during the planning workshop for the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES) on April 26-27, 2022 at the Philippine Gateway Hotel.

Provincial/City/Municipal LGUs, DA, ATI, other National Government Agencies, and the academe presented their plans and programs for the agriculture and fisheries sector from 2023-2025. Outputs will be consolidated to form part of Surigao del Norte's Collaborative Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Program (CPAFEP).

The interventions identified by the LGUs were submitted to the Provincial Agriculture Office for consolidation. It will be presented again to the National Government Agencies (NGAs), academe, and the private sector on May 18, 2022 as first draft of the Collaborative Provincial Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Program (CPAFEP).

A few municipalities presented their AF plans to the audience during the two-day activity for comments and critiquing. Among the commenters present were Engr. Ricardo Oñate Jr. (Regional Executive Director, DA-RFO 13), Fil Victor Babanto (OIC Center Director, ATI-RTC 13), Joel Oclarit (Regional Manager, PCA-13), Ruby Ann Lagahit (Provincial Agriculturist, SDN), Edelmira Luminarias (PAFES Focal Person, DA-RFO 13), and representatives from BFAR, PCIC, TESDA, PhilFIDA, BPI, and NIA.
