NASIPIT, Agusan del Norte - The Regional Technical Working Committee (RTWC) for the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) recently conducted an evaluation of the Farmers' Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center located in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte. The FITS Center in the said town is housed within the newly constructed Municipal Agriculturist's Office (MAO) building in Brgy. Kinabjangan.

The RTWC, composed of personnel from ATI-RTC 13 and Caraga State University (CSU), interviewed Lydia A. Apatan, the Municipal Agriculturist of Nasipit. The committee members included Fil Victor Babanto, Information Services Section (ISS) Chief from ATI-RTC 13; Rodel Pasion, a professor from Caraga State University (CSU); and Jason Paul Dads E. Jampac, Media Production Specialist II from ATI-13.

The discussion aimed to assess the functionality, effectiveness, and overall impact of the FITS Center in serving the agricultural needs of the Nasipit community. The FITS Center plays an important role in disseminating information, innovative technologies, and best practices to local farmers, empowering them to improve their agricultural practices.

In addition to the evaluation of the FITS Center, the RTWC also turned its attention to the evaluation of two outstanding farmers from Nasipit. These farmers, nominated as Magsasakang Siyentista (MS), have demonstrated commitment and dedication to advancing agricultural practices in the municipality. The MS nominees were Edwin "Dondon" Cordoya, from Brgy. Aclan, and Myrna Tabanao, a resident of Brgy. Culit.

Later, the RTWC endorsed Tabanao due to her leadership and communications skills, good agriculture practices, and track record.
