LSA cooperator gains confidence through dairy goat prod’n training

PROSPERIDAD, Agusan del Sur – “A sense of confidence and empowerment grew among the participants. As we absorbed practical insight and best practices for sustainable dairy goat farming,” says Perlito B. Montañez, LSA cooperator and one of the participants of the Training of Trainers on Dairy Goat Production and Management (Phase 2) Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP).

The said training was conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII on October 16-20, 2023, at the Hygeia IntegraMeds Center. It was participated by 20 individuals who were Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), LSA cooperators, and farmer practitioners.

It aims to capacitate AEWs to help farmers improve their productivity, income, and sustainability by sharing knowledge and skills acquired through the training.

Resource persons were Dr. Konielou M. Berdin, Minda B. Manliguez, Dr. Easter Rose D. Nono, Jimmy M. Concha, and Leo Cesar A. Pagapular. Topics discussed were on animal breeding and genetic improvement, animal husbandry practices, animal health care, economics of goat production, marketing, and insight enhancement.
