BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 13 (DA-Caraga) conducted the "OneDA Meeting & Harmonization Workshop of Information & Advocacy Campaigns" on February 22-24, 2022. The activity was attended by Information Officers of DA’s attached agencies and bureaus and farmcasters and designated Information Officers of the Local Government Units (LGUs).

The Closing Program of the "OneDA Meeting & Harmonization Workshop of Information & Advocacy Campaigns" was attended by Engr. Ricardo M. Oñate, Regional Executive Director of DA-Caraga. He stressed the importance of cooperation between the government and the private sector and among DA partner agencies towards agricultural development.

The annual activity, which is spearheaded by DA-Caraga’s Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Information Section (RAFIS), aimed to harmonize agri-fishery related information and advocacy activities through collaboration with the Regional Information Network Group. As the Regional Technical Director for Operations Rebecca R. Atega had said during her opening remarks, this initiative is part of the Strategic Communications that cut across all other 17 key strategies of the OneDA Reform Agenda.

Engr. Ricardo M. Oñate, Regional Executive Director of DA-Caraga, likewise stressed the importance of cooperation between the government and the private sector and among DA partner agencies, especially amidst the challenges being faced by the agriculture sector in the country.

Part of the workshop was the development and production of radio plugs that will be aired on different radio stations in the region. The DA-Caraga reported that a total of 38 radio plugs were produced during the three-day activity and were mostly programs being implemented in the office or agency of the participants.

Aside from the Provincial/City LGUs, there were also representatives from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), National Food Authority (NFA), and the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA).
