With hearts full of hope and minds set on shaping the future of agriculture, 300 4-H club leaders from the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, and Quirino gathered in Ramon, Isabela for the 2025 4-H Regional Booth Camp, held on April 23 to 25.
Anchored on the theme “HARVEST through 4-H Milestone: Harnessing Agricultural Resilience through Vision, Education, Sustainability and Technology,” the three-day event served as a powerful platform for young farmers, civic leaders, and advocates to develop leadership skills, forge partnerships, and deepen their commitment to agricultural advancement and community service.
The three-day camp kicked off with the arrival and registration of delegates, followed by a symbolic Torch Parade that lit up the streets of Ramon. This set an enthusiastic tone for the evening’s Opening Program and Citizenship Ceremonies.
A solemn flag ritual opened the ceremony, featuring the entrance of the Philippine flag, the banner of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), and various provincial club flags. Highlights included the Flag Soliloquy delivered by Mr. Cristopher Lucena (Baggao, Cagayan), the Philippine National Anthem sung by Ms. Nemalyn Maraña (Nueva Vizcaya), and patriotic tributes by youth leaders: Salute to the Flag by Ms. Carmella Adduru (Iguig, Cagayan), Pledge of Allegiance by Ms. Janna Garcia (Tuao, Cagayan), and the 4-H Club Creed and Pledge recited by Mr. Jason Dangue and Mr. Rolnado Acolicol (Tuao, Cagayan).
The 4-H Emblem, symbolizing Head, Heart, Hands, and Health was formally presented by key ATI and 4-H leaders including Dr. Claris Marayag-Alaska, OIC Center Director of ATI-RTC II; Mr. Jhimcelle V. Salvador, Chief of CDMS; Ms. Natividad C. Oandasan, FVLP Regional President; and Mr. Vladimir B. Caliguiran, OIC Assistant Center Director.
Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Amado Q. Luluquisen welcomed the participants on behalf of Ramon Mayor Jesus Laddaran. In her opening message, Dr. Alaska encouraged delegates to find a deeper purpose in joining the 4-H Club—not just to enjoy events, but to discover long-term goals in leadership and service.
Inspirational messages followed, with Isabela Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Sergio Galamgam addressing the youth. The keynote message came from Engr. Christian Paul Magsino, agripreneur and owner of BH Roque Integrated Farm. Sharing his journey of resilience, Magsino reflected on early failures that became stepping stones to success. “Even in failure, something deeper grows. Something stronger. Something unstoppable,” he shared. Today, his farm supplies major supermarket chains regionwide and is expanding egg production across Regions I and III. His advice; “Don’t wait for the perfect moment, start with what you have. Start small. Start smart.”
Engr. Beverly S. Orpilla-Project Officer and 4H Focal Person, concluded the program by providing an overview of the Boot Camp’s schedule.
On the second day, delegates participated in community outreach at Purok ni Bulan, Ramon, Isabela where they led feeding programs and distributed gifts to children. A lecture on Civil Society Organization Accreditation was shared by Ms. Vivienne Marie A. Villanueva, Administrative Assistant I of PMED, DA-RFO II.
The evening featured a candle-lighting ceremony led by FVLP Regional President Ms. Natividad Oandasan and FVLP members. This was followed by Fellowship Night, which included an on-the-spot 4-H’s Got Talent, the 4-H Club Promotional Video Contest, and the 4-H SongCon: Tinig ng Kabataan.
The summit’s final day opened with a team-building scavenger hunt, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. The event wrapped up with an inspiring session by keynote speaker Pastor Wilrey Reñen, who talked on overcoming peer pressure and finding personal purpose.
As the summit came to a close, it left a powerful message, the youth of Region II are not only the future of agriculture, they are its passionate, purpose-driven present. Through unity, innovation, and resilience, they are ready to lead.
