Thirty (30) farmers from various municipalities in Nueva Ecija successfully completed the five-day training program titled “Oversighting Finances: A Training on Financial Management-3” from May 25–29, 2026, at its ATI-RTC III Satellite Office in Palayan City.
The training aimed to enhance the financial literacy, budgeting skills, and basic accounting knowledge of farmers, equipping them with practical tools to manage agricultural finances more effectively and sustainably.
Mr. Omie A. Carbonel, Technical Support Staff IV, served as one of the resource speakers, delivering a lecture on Filipino values. He underscored discipline, integrity, responsibility, and perseverance as vital traits in financial decision-making and farm management. His session highlighted how positive Filipino values contribute to effective financial stewardship and sustainable livelihood development.
Ms. Carmela G. Fermin, Administrative Support Staff III, facilitated sessions on financial management and basic accounting. She covered topics such as budgeting, savings, record-keeping, cash flow management, and income and expense monitoring. Practical examples and exercises helped participants apply these principles directly to their farming activities.
The training successfully met its objectives of promoting financial awareness and enhancing the financial management skills of Nueva Ecija’s farmers. The knowledge and skills gained from the activity are expected to contribute to improved financial decision-making, sustainable farm operations, and enhanced livelihood opportunities for the participants.
