The Agricultural Training Institute-Central Luzon (ATI-CL) conducted a three-day training on the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) for the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) staff at the ATI-RTC III Training Hall in San Ramon, Dinalupihan, Bataan, on October 8-10, 2024.
This training aimed to provide the selected Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from Bataan, Pampanga, and Zambales, with a comprehensive understanding of the Digital Farmers Program. The participants explored its key components, course toolkit, and advanced agricultural applications, as well as identify different e-commerce platforms to enhance their digital marketing strategies in agriculture.
Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Center Director of ATI-RTC III, delivered the welcoming remarks, highlighting the essential role of FITS centers in supporting local farmers and the contributions of ATI-Central Luzon to the program's advancement.
Mr. Marciano Santos, Planning Officer, gave a brief discussion regarding the Unified Extension System Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Information System (UnExSys) to AEW’s participants and encouraged them to register in the system.
Additionally, Mr. Kent Edward Ballesteros, Media Production Specialist, and Mr. John Patrick Gutierez, Technical Support Staff, served as resource persons and discussed the Digital Farmers Program 101, DFP 102, basic agriculture applications, advanced agriculture applications, social media marketing, social media marketing plans, and e-commerce platforms.
The participants applied the agricultural application by having field activity and identifying the feature icons in different applications, such as eDamuhan, SPIDTECH, and Binhing Palay App.
Moreover, the participants engaged in group activities, focusing on practical applications of advanced agricultural technologies and effective social media marketing strategies to disseminate knowledge among local farmers.
The training concluded by submitting their final output in the form of a re-entry plan designed to implement their learnings in their respective communities.
